How should I document a repair?

A simple before, during and after checklist for repair work on a home, vehicle, appliance or item.

Photograph the condition before the repair, the important stages you can safely observe, and the finished result. Keep the quote, invoice and repair messages with the same record.

What to keep

  2. Close details of the problem before repair.
